Reflection

My dear friends,

In one family, it is a Good Friday. A job has been lost, a career derailed. A serious illness has been diagnosed. A relationship has unravelled. But the other members of the family put aside their own lives and come together at the foot of their loved one’s cross. Their love moves whatever mountain necessary, changes the course of whatever river is in the way. Together, Mam and Dad, sister and brother bear one another’s crosses to bring hope, healing and forgiveness to their life as a family. The story of the life of Jesus Christ does end on Good Friday. Where there is love to support and nourish people, the end of the story is still open. The love of families can transform any tragic Good Friday. In the story of every Christian’s life, Good Friday is always followed by Easter Sunday.
