Opportunities for every family across the Diocese of Clogher to write petitions which will be brought to the World Meeting of Families in Dublin next year will be available from early November. Two specially-made petition boxes begin their journey around the various parishes, beginning in Clones on Friday 4 November. The box will stay in each parish for one week (two weeks in Monaghan and Enniskillen over the Christmas holiday period). Petition slips will be available.

By late March 2018, each parish will have been covered and it is planned to bring the petitions to the ancient diocesan seat at Clogher on 24 March – Feast of St Macartan – for a short liturgy during which they will be handed over to religious orders who will bring them to their houses of prayer until the start of the World Meeting of Families in August. The petitions will be brought to the final Mass of the World Meeting of Families at which, it is hoped, Pope Francis will preside.
